So, who WAS watching the kids while we were playing video games???

Memorial Day Pictures

Memorial Day

We spent the evening at Joe's sister's house. Steve, Jane's husband, grilled out wonderful hambergers and hot dogs. We also had two cakes...one for Ryan who turned 12 and the other for Michael who turned 10. One cake had whipped icing and the other had buttercream. The icing saga is rather a family joke. It is not a close contest....buttercream is the absolute best icing!! Matthew had a great time playing in Andrea's room, playing on the swings and playing volleyball. The boys played XBOX and I even got in on that action and even one a game of some kind of car racing game. Yes, it is very fun and very addicting and NO, we are not going to get one yet.

Yes, we are still St. Louis Cardinal fans in this household! Matthew didn't want to go to church this morning because of his nose......but guess the boys made it but lots of people asked him about it!!
Ah, the end to another fun day and day two in a row of good behavior. Five days in a row earns him a trip to the movies!!! YEAH!!!

It's Always Something!

It seems Matthew almost always gets hurt on the weekends...when I am at work! This time, Joe and Matthew were at the gym and guess Matthew was having so much fun running around, that at some point in his fun, he fell and got a rug burn on his nose! He didn't cry and I guess it looks worse than it is. At least school pictures aren't tomorrow :-)

FINALLY!!

After finally taking a good bath without a mega ordeal, Matthew earned back his beloved markers and other writing impliments! I don't know why 2 minutes of bath time can at times be such an issue. He is a happy camper now as I water the flowers and lawn. The lawn is so green and lush I hate to mess all of my hard work up this early in the season. I planted some seed on a hillside late this spring but it didn't take very well. Tonight I figured out why......any place there isn't grass growing is ROCK!!!!!! I think I'll tackle that this fall.

Always wanting to help!

It seems we are still having problems with bedtime. But, before tonight's meltdown, he did manage to help with the dishes. It's too bad there is always such a HUGE water mess. Tomorrow is another day!

We Planted Flowers

We planted a bunch of flowers this year. The big question is.....can we keep them alive!! The jury is still out on that one.

We Love KU

We just finished our last day of kindergarten so it's never too early to start preparing for college!

The Last Day of School

After staying up until almost 10 pm, Matthew had a hard time getting up this morning!! He did make it to school and got to ride the bus as well. So, his perfect attendence record remains intact! Today we went shopping for hummingbird feeders. It's probably too late to attract them but we are going to give it a try. Hopefully I have figured out how to add some pictures of Matthew. He has lost his bottom two teeth and it is taking them FOREVER to grow in!!

My First Post

Matthew has been testing his independence lately. ...from wanting to pour his own catsup to trying to see how late he can stay up! Tomorrow is his last day of kindergarten and he doesn't quite get that he will have a different teacher. That could be an interesting problem to deal with at a later date. He has just loved school and hasn't missed a single day! I am hoping he likes summer school too. It is all day and he will get to eat lunch there too. That will be another challange but hopefully he will get tired of taking just cheese and crackers and branch out to something new!
