Here it is, the 8th and not an entry. Oops. I also have mega cabin fever. We got hit with about 12 inches of snow around Christmas and then a few days later 4 more (give or take) and then now as I blog it is 0. ZERO. We were the ONLY school district on Tuesday to go back to school. Yes, that is a sore subject. My suv was in the shop so I couldn't take Matthew to school but got the call early that it was ready. So, some poor guy came and got me and I paid for the repairs and took him to school. Thankfully he got ONE day of school after Christmas break as the rest of the week was cancelled due to MORE snow and this horrid COLD weather. It is in my household! We are quite the competitive group with this bowling! I challenged the CEO of the hospital weeks ago and have talked “trash” about it for even longer. It was for charity and there will be another tournament with the next fundraiser the hospital does for sure. I had had it for probably close to 4 years so I knew it was time but I was irresponsible and didn't back up anything but a few important emails and my pictures. So...hard lesson learned. I took it in the Best Buy and went to the Geek counter. While at the counter, it literally took its last breath and the mother board died. So, I headed to the computer area. I was greeted by the worse customer service. No one was interested in showing me their computers....I got a brief overview and then was told I would absolutely hate the Macs. Well...I am my father's daughter people....I left and THAT store wasn't getting my money! I went to the Apple store. The guy spent 35 minutes with me going over their MacBook and didn't once try and sell me a more expensive one that I didn't need. Yep...SOLD. Went back the next day and made my purchase. They even gave me a discount :) Seriously, it's all about the CUSTOMER SERVICE!! </p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica"><br /></p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica">Matthew was sick on Friday and missed his Halloween party at school and of course was totally crushed. I talked it over with my doctor and with as much exposure as we nurses have and will have, and with me NOT wanting to bring anything home, I got it. It hasn't hurt as much as the other shot but today I've had the chills but I'm feeling much better after napping most of the day. </p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica"><br /></p><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica">Next blog....The big Union vote!</p></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-56138291357783374712009-08-28T19:18:00.004-05:002009-08-28T19:56:45.840-05:00Are you a Leader or a Follower?<span style="font-size:130%;">Are you a leader or a follower? Are you just content to complain and do nothing about your surroundings or are you just one of THOSE people that really if you gave them a million dollars, they would STILL complain that it wasn't enough. They are never happy with anything. I am seriously tired of all the negativity. If you don't like your job, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Stop bringing the rest down. If you don't like where you live?? Move. If your house is a mess.....clean it. Are you a leader or a follower? Can you make decisions for yourself.....yes. You don't need anyone else speaking for you. If you lie with snakes, eventually, you too will become one. My dad taught me YEARS ago that you are whom you associate with. It goes both professionally and persoanally. Are you a leader or a follower?? </span><br /><br /><span style="font-size:130%;">Just this week I was a witness and first responder to a car accident. I was sitting at a light to turn left onto a busy highway to head home to mow. It was such a nice day, I was in my own little world. Then I saw this car, in the middle of the intersection, trying to turn, totally out of place. He could have easily hit me. I was was first in line to turn. He turned into the street I was turning out of....a truck hit him and he hit a light pole head on. Crunch. I parked my truck. Turned it off, locked my purse and got out. First on the scene. Not my usual role for sure. I think to be honest....I prefer the bedside nurse role. An off duty paramedic had a bag of stethescopes...so while waiting for the cops...we did vitals, got a history...and WAITED. What would you have done....drove off?? Are you a leader or a follower?? </span><br /><br /><span style="font-size:130%;">I can't say I'm any kind of leader all or any of the time. Who knows how I am really percieved out in the real world. lol. I know I have several roles....mom, friend, daughter, nurse....I'm trying to raise a son who is respectful to others, to me and knows right from wrong and is a joy to be around. He's my legacy. Lead by example. That is a tough one. I haven't always...can't always....but I'm trying. Are you a leader or a follower??</span><br /><span style="font-size:130%;"></span><br /><span style="font-size:130%;">Be the Best. Care the Most. Are you content with complacency? Just doing enough to get by? Be the Best...Care the Most....Lead or Follow, it's up to you.</span>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-54885005499590710052009-07-24T17:14:00.003-05:002009-07-24T17:31:06.788-05:00The Cheesecake Factory and Goodbye...<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfj702G3VsWuXJCGgD84aATKJoa8bGXQ_wG6ZuQUYkNhHDsxkwEjkrlIbCmenCMTX_8rPCFL-JdU4J3mQq_B41BTO6PSIwGHx_ldooaH_IBbscBKwF8leHSfp3CRdaf1R31IJv_A/s1600-h/DSCN1747.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5362156258446037602" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfj702G3VsWuXJCGgD84aATKJoa8bGXQ_wG6ZuQUYkNhHDsxkwEjkrlIbCmenCMTX_8rPCFL-JdU4J3mQq_B41BTO6PSIwGHx_ldooaH_IBbscBKwF8leHSfp3CRdaf1R31IJv_A/s400/DSCN1747.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9f4kV_4vorcLVrz-w6pg0Iu7M3xBmKKwoq7wKTv98o5GMJ9NgJgDSK5bRl1jqMfetV-Gtk5wYC41olDvqGo7tscol8PwtIuESl3A1uKc9ZMwjURWZVFJYRSQI9ZbuUqNsrSjxqw/s1600-h/DSCN1746.JPG"></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6ZGtpjL3P-0qzHw8LRE5MpB01BFKSmgQ9yjQPWvm0Xhwuyw1OZT6rmx_1up95eSx8ghj5RL0XT804vCEMNf1wnmKHxkunnb-HYmWC-P6qsN2kjVQbK9A0IU3iAVL5gIg67rSbbg/s1600-h/DSCN1749.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5362156250467214482" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6ZGtpjL3P-0qzHw8LRE5MpB01BFKSmgQ9yjQPWvm0Xhwuyw1OZT6rmx_1up95eSx8ghj5RL0XT804vCEMNf1wnmKHxkunnb-HYmWC-P6qsN2kjVQbK9A0IU3iAVL5gIg67rSbbg/s400/DSCN1749.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="font-size:180%;">I really hate goodbyes. Perhaps more so lately but still the same. Today I had lunch with my college friend Stacy, aka, my concert husband. I have dragged her with me to more concerts in the heat than she probably ever cared to go to! We met the fall of 1989 at William Jewell College as suite mates there and have remained friends ever since. So why was lunch today any different? Her husband has been promoted to a judge and they are moving to Florida. As soon as they find a house, move in...I will somehow get over my fear of flying, get a script for some xanax and get on a plane and go for a visit. I mean there are afterall palm trees, beaches, sand, sun, the house of Mickey, sun etc there too. Stacy, you have been truely a dear and treasured friend, I am really going to miss you. I still laugh at all the fun we had in college going to the Hallmark store and just reading cards, shopping, going to games and all of the fun time with the "gang"..and then of course all of the hot July Rascal Flatts concerts. Now, find a house so we can have a girls weekend!</span></div></div></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-34281243452285417972009-07-22T11:48:00.003-05:002009-07-22T11:52:10.463-05:00Wii Bowling...<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4QrTcMaKeQ8eADlbJ4jNNUOcsSezcWlALk00YlW648R8pLnJ0HnLgftSDehwJdG_ooZRMRrjt2T71eN3hg_VIG8ECVJQkOu4hqsIsMRmGrWPQ4jdZB0YKWSDCyftViRrRsGDPfA/s1600-h/DSCN1732.JPG"></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2MmdDDuw4Q6zlau2dpSajBZA249JE_1G5kIklShjZfpQUmE2O7rrLxuuu9LvxbYNNPFrSxbziK8YwgBHZVqASJVaORnwMmIsFGwt2to9XXOXZS_TJNc5l58BokSD0T9X5cRDHzQ/s1600-h/DSCN1733.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361328029249832914" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2MmdDDuw4Q6zlau2dpSajBZA249JE_1G5kIklShjZfpQUmE2O7rrLxuuu9LvxbYNNPFrSxbziK8YwgBHZVqASJVaORnwMmIsFGwt2to9XXOXZS_TJNc5l58BokSD0T9X5cRDHzQ/s400/DSCN1733.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhumYb65UITbEF5B4mqFWp16JQQE-52pwFbB0XtfcOWYDvsAEAhYPINmRhFXB2ak5Kro7emDo5ZjG-hZz8bAMsZJoMbXUAgvZrRPqHqplXSJtfnJ9TgoTpYIAH08W1860ksfvG1Nw/s1600-h/DSCN1730.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5361328022590099394" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhumYb65UITbEF5B4mqFWp16JQQE-52pwFbB0XtfcOWYDvsAEAhYPINmRhFXB2ak5Kro7emDo5ZjG-hZz8bAMsZJoMbXUAgvZrRPqHqplXSJtfnJ9TgoTpYIAH08W1860ksfvG1Nw/s400/DSCN1730.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">A couple of weeks ago, Tula from work came over. Matthew is like a fish in the water and LOVES to swim! Sometimes he'd rather horse around than learn the actual strokes but he's learned if he wants to advance in the program, he has to listen to the instructor...whom he of course immediately liked!! He passed this level and is begging to take more lessons with her. Today, the last day, they got to jump off the diving board. He was second in line and I thought he'd be scared. He was...a little....but jumped right off! It does look like a lot of fun, I wish my pictures had turned out better but he went so quickly...lol!</div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-51352116097415879632009-06-17T21:35:00.003-05:002009-06-17T21:53:01.862-05:00Heart Walk 2009<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyAmHwzWVsF0-GYSngM4Y49riqAVzASzh4mfX1OF1BXKPuzRKA2M5E8wK-4O69n28S-L2dP1NEELPgLc6kwtTwGJnXsC1vLzgOKRrVPTKGh50NEhXM5De6Sv3FsJyuBy6syboW-A/s1600-h/DSCN1729.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348494312139839122" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyAmHwzWVsF0-GYSngM4Y49riqAVzASzh4mfX1OF1BXKPuzRKA2M5E8wK-4O69n28S-L2dP1NEELPgLc6kwtTwGJnXsC1vLzgOKRrVPTKGh50NEhXM5De6Sv3FsJyuBy6syboW-A/s400/DSCN1729.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUOPfoBZgaa1u4wqdIt9ZlGwuvHVqB3yWTioS6uwz8p9OXPVF6ojhlILZfkchHd02JbqdHKcae5bDxpuH_hzHToyb6XCYOjBVnT0q_I8KPR21RIUP2QIz0w6cpk6p5thMJiJ5-Yw/s1600-h/heart+walk+2009.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348494310397486930" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 247px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUOPfoBZgaa1u4wqdIt9ZlGwuvHVqB3yWTioS6uwz8p9OXPVF6ojhlILZfkchHd02JbqdHKcae5bDxpuH_hzHToyb6XCYOjBVnT0q_I8KPR21RIUP2QIz0w6cpk6p5thMJiJ5-Yw/s400/heart+walk+2009.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPX_QhvwPGrnYqT36L9hhS9GTb1ihDJqEeP4ncug13LygvgqSRHU-pCFe7AVKoBtSTXnMQkdLIrpdbxchAmCdEnVvWt2WKaMfU_FAcmcTUKIZOuhn7jgGIHyX-7xiJO8rTC5i7gA/s1600-h/tracey+and+damond.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348494302729099506" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPX_QhvwPGrnYqT36L9hhS9GTb1ihDJqEeP4ncug13LygvgqSRHU-pCFe7AVKoBtSTXnMQkdLIrpdbxchAmCdEnVvWt2WKaMfU_FAcmcTUKIZOuhn7jgGIHyX-7xiJO8rTC5i7gA/s400/tracey+and+damond.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi84dcc2ezoiP1QHdgomm6Xyx6Pi3DWf08uHyVLMJuajqq8C53okQkgXitnA2kjJvTzcvflSH5WQ20rJgeCo42HNudu6pFQ5QJzCjvwAll7OOkpsJBQQuga4chEPnVwVKggrev7Ew/s1600-h/DSCN1726.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348494299751457474" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi84dcc2ezoiP1QHdgomm6Xyx6Pi3DWf08uHyVLMJuajqq8C53okQkgXitnA2kjJvTzcvflSH5WQ20rJgeCo42HNudu6pFQ5QJzCjvwAll7OOkpsJBQQuga4chEPnVwVKggrev7Ew/s400/DSCN1726.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGjlVrL0yVnpbchIqBo-gIeXN7giHuqaeAHHHN77jHqsbWm7uJeDl9cIOjSOiaxfHhtlh-9J-mBso6sIxuqbLecfEkwaYsxXCBF5dxRrti0hAbJb-pr5ZKFE81T2o-2wqCwfLOeQ/s1600-h/DSCN1723.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348494297995269938" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGjlVrL0yVnpbchIqBo-gIeXN7giHuqaeAHHHN77jHqsbWm7uJeDl9cIOjSOiaxfHhtlh-9J-mBso6sIxuqbLecfEkwaYsxXCBF5dxRrti0hAbJb-pr5ZKFE81T2o-2wqCwfLOeQ/s400/DSCN1723.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">I am still behind on blogging...so a little catch up is in order before the summer is over and done with! On Saturday May 30th, I took the day off and participated in the American Heart Walk. The hospital corporation I work for was a huge sponspor so it looked like a sea of red at their tent. I, however, was in blue. Uh??? Funny story. So, my friend Tracey gets me to do this walk...swears to me we will ONLY have to do ONE mile. So, we sign up under the CEO, who asked us to be on his team...I'm guessing he won't again...lol. Well, he didn't hold back any shirts for us. So, I go to administration and they have big shirts or childrens shirts left. The lady in administration looks at me and says....can't you sqeeze into a childs medium?? Keep in mind Matthew wears a childs large now. I smile, get Tracey her shirt and leave. At this point, it is JUST a shirt, I decide for fun...and since the CEO is a huge Duke fan, I will wear a KU shirt for fun to the walk. I changed my mind...not wanting to get fired in this economy and all and wore a Royals shirt instead. After arriving in the sea of red shirts, his wife found me a shirt. Hmmmm.....outside, at a park....TONS of people...where am I going to change??? Lets just say some boy scout troop is going to need a lot of therapy and I was wearing a sports bra! Moving on.... </span></div><br /><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">The rest of the day I felt like I was playing hookie from work. We went out for breakfast, went to the pool, brought dinner home and watched a movie. So...this is what "normal" people do on a Saturday. I had totally forgotten!!</span></div><div><span style="font-size:130%;"></span> </div><div><span style="font-size:130%;">FYI...DB..National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is rapidly approaching....what IS the hospital going to do this year?????</span></div></div></div></div></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-17894453085032374442009-06-01T18:10:00.004-05:002009-06-01T18:24:24.178-05:00Memorial Day<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwVI9Qzx2Mq1g24lMhFg5Isct0Y4B-PTs3mnXOAjc0YNQdE3kIkmmR_wjrRiXkVkcVt_Vpw4_wM7H2mX9-YcD3CkRsSF53bLsG67L2osci5xgAgrNtGLR0tCQV5O_OUbZToSZz5g/s1600-h/DSCN1722.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342502627237489746" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwVI9Qzx2Mq1g24lMhFg5Isct0Y4B-PTs3mnXOAjc0YNQdE3kIkmmR_wjrRiXkVkcVt_Vpw4_wM7H2mX9-YcD3CkRsSF53bLsG67L2osci5xgAgrNtGLR0tCQV5O_OUbZToSZz5g/s400/DSCN1722.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjKck299Djp90F1jyteK279zF8J33oAReAIr3MNEbgPbQzkHmJjjIHZiOLeiKrFUMBkyNlAg-zj6uwFQ8N1a1ejWD1ADj_nO91-6onqVCs48LMQL3PB_2eW6BDSnHuHi49Lch1WA/s1600-h/DSCN1720.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342502624774101314" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjKck299Djp90F1jyteK279zF8J33oAReAIr3MNEbgPbQzkHmJjjIHZiOLeiKrFUMBkyNlAg-zj6uwFQ8N1a1ejWD1ADj_nO91-6onqVCs48LMQL3PB_2eW6BDSnHuHi49Lch1WA/s400/DSCN1720.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU7CmrvzyavsyCLjwKu1xPKo9yMX74bHpaRm8joJPVQYWqKBZj6Sz66ogwpiGKN7kDX6xYMFi0v7dDgvTITA6o1_wGVuFFU7GpirHC48_Z6PniSUEy9UGZ3VuRKOxGKIjCNWO3Xg/s1600-h/dscn1719+(2).jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342502620760168882" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU7CmrvzyavsyCLjwKu1xPKo9yMX74bHpaRm8joJPVQYWqKBZj6Sz66ogwpiGKN7kDX6xYMFi0v7dDgvTITA6o1_wGVuFFU7GpirHC48_Z6PniSUEy9UGZ3VuRKOxGKIjCNWO3Xg/s400/dscn1719+(2).jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSaaFf2mQ03T0U4TsyZ5pnWYfrlGfx2ii9DbhqLJTKzY5DmuBX7BsQJo8UmPXWsVKbsgWfDDQTFiHAKqWxYPWqD2G-zsku0TEyeC23WjXsd5lZFnwhqKRr3bVsvDes6xXGnckzJA/s1600-h/DSCN1717.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5342502616640123906" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSaaFf2mQ03T0U4TsyZ5pnWYfrlGfx2ii9DbhqLJTKzY5DmuBX7BsQJo8UmPXWsVKbsgWfDDQTFiHAKqWxYPWqD2G-zsku0TEyeC23WjXsd5lZFnwhqKRr3bVsvDes6xXGnckzJA/s400/DSCN1717.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">On Memorial Day...yes, I realize today is June 1st and I am a little behind in blogging...anyway....we went on a short, 45 minutes to be exact, railroad trip. I have a patient that comes in every weekend for IV antibiotics. I have it down to a science and it takes about 45 minutes to an hour. He calls the pharmacy, promising he really is coming in, they mix up the drug and we have a room ready and his diet coke and graham crackers are waiting for him! The first weekend I wondered why he kept wearing the same shirt with this railroad logo on it......so, as an ice breaker, I asked. Now, several weeks into this antibiotic trip he has to endure......and putting up with my bad humor and stories I end up telling him....the nursing supervisor, her triplets, her husband, Matthew and I made a trip out there on Memorial Day. As luck would have it, he was having too much pain to come out and missed us. It was a chilly and rainy day and thankfully I had a jacket in the truck. Apparently Florida sent us their rainy weather....uh, thanks! The kids had a great time and Matthew is still quite perplexed about the whole triplet concept. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">LOL</span>. Of course the real reason for Memorial Day is to that all the Veterans...past and present for their service...they are the reason we live in a country that is FREE! It's not just a day to be off work, make extra money, grill out or goof off....Hopefully everyone remembered to thank a veteran or service man. Trust me, nothing is more breath taking than going to a National <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Cemetery</span>.....<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">WSM</span> 5-11-91. </span></div></div></div></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-86216952934967911812009-05-21T18:56:00.003-05:002009-05-21T19:12:23.365-05:00KC Royals Ladies Night<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoSPMvyIDQDrHKDdJaZ6ezBfO0ajUJPUlnw1v938ekexkc1dZvkm7YW1LCfWMJoCRPDzjSx68rywg4RGZ2I7jwOX93RV7N-Qq6KjsxPgLPcV9Yx7vJwK0uJ-tT6gNHiZpY6Vhuag/s1600-h/fountain.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338433957902067426" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoSPMvyIDQDrHKDdJaZ6ezBfO0ajUJPUlnw1v938ekexkc1dZvkm7YW1LCfWMJoCRPDzjSx68rywg4RGZ2I7jwOX93RV7N-Qq6KjsxPgLPcV9Yx7vJwK0uJ-tT6gNHiZpY6Vhuag/s400/fountain.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha6ahvMpFl8R4kRTwRXoNum19VAVqQe3Ef9V2cAxgOEvgvJH5D8TC0qzXepZwFTM3BCcxZlnITGm_gHSQs7-goaynvCXsuQf-VMDYGzYQDddMCbpuZhyphenhyphenjk83CvsdHUspzk8GOC2w/s1600-h/DSCN1710.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338433961730495570" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha6ahvMpFl8R4kRTwRXoNum19VAVqQe3Ef9V2cAxgOEvgvJH5D8TC0qzXepZwFTM3BCcxZlnITGm_gHSQs7-goaynvCXsuQf-VMDYGzYQDddMCbpuZhyphenhyphenjk83CvsdHUspzk8GOC2w/s400/DSCN1710.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigo1xCrqBSZiBl8gZML56tSdA-pMBwFj-dFWBwz10g4VKxOqQVCKnoH4y3zoWJhh-qTt3PXoNCalVKZrndfcTwzdjbv1G2SCG-NyeBHGjf0OaE6O-i14MGYKSm6qKGiaW4cJdB_g/s1600-h/DSCN1705.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338433957825750242" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigo1xCrqBSZiBl8gZML56tSdA-pMBwFj-dFWBwz10g4VKxOqQVCKnoH4y3zoWJhh-qTt3PXoNCalVKZrndfcTwzdjbv1G2SCG-NyeBHGjf0OaE6O-i14MGYKSm6qKGiaW4cJdB_g/s400/DSCN1705.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga4Qvq1wXMqNDZZyBdlHjw0nt_DdSulgZ247TvlIXI28rtUZip81T4rTx1f3BbF8gaf_cAQfx0d_dWeq-B4TDTXiaDLJz7BygJcuW374DtSSyjzwwKla2RbEJtbGCVn8Kzm8gcwQ/s1600-h/lisa+and+julie.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338433952572894706" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 296px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga4Qvq1wXMqNDZZyBdlHjw0nt_DdSulgZ247TvlIXI28rtUZip81T4rTx1f3BbF8gaf_cAQfx0d_dWeq-B4TDTXiaDLJz7BygJcuW374DtSSyjzwwKla2RbEJtbGCVn8Kzm8gcwQ/s400/lisa+and+julie.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTIos-ypMM7_0QS1zP0onpURLUhInu_yOwBKbdVI3zN_XeM3HmM93avK1jNnGpYaKNAjnLAqL1P-1cyfex2Tv-8aSXh4lkUFxTj_LNqqBYqIJa-irtI1xe1VgeWyHekADhLe00Bg/s1600-h/DSCN1703.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338433952524236674" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTIos-ypMM7_0QS1zP0onpURLUhInu_yOwBKbdVI3zN_XeM3HmM93avK1jNnGpYaKNAjnLAqL1P-1cyfex2Tv-8aSXh4lkUFxTj_LNqqBYqIJa-irtI1xe1VgeWyHekADhLe00Bg/s400/DSCN1703.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">Last week I was invited to go with a group from work to Ladies Night out at the K. I was bummed they lost but it was nice to go to a game and the weather was PERFECT!</span></div></div></div></div></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-90319459629915555072009-05-15T15:42:00.003-05:002009-05-15T15:55:54.785-05:00Plaza Field Trip<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJX7IuTr2hqrmbFmz_xspyMyiFM8eYaHxXaOP9MMhyhgW6d1xl_LOKJTlhW0iv0tgMSRr-0AIFyNuajf5H_bQzSHO4UAwMmrD39eVJFxXNDC9aRsnCB3xqXH00UL-Uqj31jRVjgg/s1600-h/DSCN1696.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336157170449426130" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJX7IuTr2hqrmbFmz_xspyMyiFM8eYaHxXaOP9MMhyhgW6d1xl_LOKJTlhW0iv0tgMSRr-0AIFyNuajf5H_bQzSHO4UAwMmrD39eVJFxXNDC9aRsnCB3xqXH00UL-Uqj31jRVjgg/s400/DSCN1696.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjemuH0Dsa5zuCqJeHcVWU47JqPdvwaK7p-CBlLWZLcrzWgCBx7Kg22BuE4qgepwSrmQ1lYiCWA3qcvTA2cuwiZNN5bxL1cpC8jHmebJTeHmw1gHWBbf-rfuSCHI5f4ArzHbkopvA/s1600-h/matthew+and+lisa.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336157168701163554" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 248px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjemuH0Dsa5zuCqJeHcVWU47JqPdvwaK7p-CBlLWZLcrzWgCBx7Kg22BuE4qgepwSrmQ1lYiCWA3qcvTA2cuwiZNN5bxL1cpC8jHmebJTeHmw1gHWBbf-rfuSCHI5f4ArzHbkopvA/s400/matthew+and+lisa.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0H8pmUsNcDJiXV1gJJuQTOlmav8iqbZGcf6m1GzD8rOFFqwiqlUBuv9G295ClWQldSfB1waZ2DxdssjYhPf9RN8zPm3skrXDdUTmxnILjvS-twL7wo5DwEcC2z1-YERDhX2T5rQ/s1600-h/DSCN1692.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336157167122107842" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0H8pmUsNcDJiXV1gJJuQTOlmav8iqbZGcf6m1GzD8rOFFqwiqlUBuv9G295ClWQldSfB1waZ2DxdssjYhPf9RN8zPm3skrXDdUTmxnILjvS-twL7wo5DwEcC2z1-YERDhX2T5rQ/s400/DSCN1692.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXSM5D-2S4j-9WYRcl_7XtI5AM1kQXmsZOWa-XV_ZA2vNPeRe4Xg3KsHMo8-7JCG7Mh2EJFjnDR8tFIZD3KJeoznxTjrHr7dwtbEDlATIZi6i4eMfUy0mBxjXKX7FtWxeZEa8i9A/s1600-h/DSCN1690.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336157160713700786" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXSM5D-2S4j-9WYRcl_7XtI5AM1kQXmsZOWa-XV_ZA2vNPeRe4Xg3KsHMo8-7JCG7Mh2EJFjnDR8tFIZD3KJeoznxTjrHr7dwtbEDlATIZi6i4eMfUy0mBxjXKX7FtWxeZEa8i9A/s400/DSCN1690.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw6MsIgNnLigc80owWDxbweGTrgBvP5QehrZUc-fp1g6xkaTKOUymp-EWZPEg6tK8Di6qCRxXeEu7XT2QjAEXqK6QAEOJ7nXfXZ4vLkAfczwdM4NBEE12dS3w5giMBl8XmLDtBPA/s1600-h/DSCN1684.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5336157158572704530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw6MsIgNnLigc80owWDxbweGTrgBvP5QehrZUc-fp1g6xkaTKOUymp-EWZPEg6tK8Di6qCRxXeEu7XT2QjAEXqK6QAEOJ7nXfXZ4vLkAfczwdM4NBEE12dS3w5giMBl8XmLDtBPA/s400/DSCN1684.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">Wednesday two of the third grade classes went on a field trip to the Country Club Plaza. Normally when I've gone to the Plaza, it's for a meal or shopping. This time it was to take in the architecture of buildings, find fountains (which Kansas City is KNOWN for) and learn about some of the history of the Plaza itself. I enjoyed it...the kiddos kinda got bored after a while. Two of the boys we had to work at keep at keeping out of the street and the fountains. Who would have thought they would have thought it would be a thrill to STEAL money OUT of the fountains. Is this a boy thing or just that age? So, when it was all over I looked up at this one building, that I think is Halls and saw this animals on top of pillars....they looked like gargoils....and told the kids that they monitored the fountains and if anyone stole money out of the fountains, they would have bad luck forever. One little girl had a look of horror on her face and said..."what if we put it back?"....Then you should be fine...but if not...it's stealing now isn't it. Ah...toying with little minds. She put a handfull of coins back in the fountain! Sheesh! The weather was perfect, the bus ride was super bumpy and on the way back to school.....Matthew did NOT want to sit with me. No, instead, he wanted to sit with a girl. lol!! He's growing up way to fast!!!! </span></div></div></div></div></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-76463534264750103532009-04-02T11:11:00.003-05:002009-04-02T11:21:52.565-05:00Swiss Stuffing Chicken<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5YhVjWyqmZVxIF0fjyGTQef1Es2dtSX5SyOP8GrZUrmujqabp6xQQGQiiqUKIC6RB2o3WEopJbXxE9Q7tUALEw4liqtI4t7s6cHlgg0J9si9zluiWvn7EGX-EjGhmXl2vQCrtSw/s1600-h/DSCN1673.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5320129567901883890" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5YhVjWyqmZVxIF0fjyGTQef1Es2dtSX5SyOP8GrZUrmujqabp6xQQGQiiqUKIC6RB2o3WEopJbXxE9Q7tUALEw4liqtI4t7s6cHlgg0J9si9zluiWvn7EGX-EjGhmXl2vQCrtSw/s400/DSCN1673.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYdtw1J9jZ_soj5ROjyfXl_HITdRw-rSSCmMDC7hZXto-5Vw2jDiOBXLkm2lBKzw3LNshgMBVN3SPzg6AbMOB_ilp1wt8AYWwp5MWUUJri1XgL3MlIwd9BCfLdALrD_A0yeCHN4A/s1600-h/DSCN1670.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5320129569628325458" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYdtw1J9jZ_soj5ROjyfXl_HITdRw-rSSCmMDC7hZXto-5Vw2jDiOBXLkm2lBKzw3LNshgMBVN3SPzg6AbMOB_ilp1wt8AYWwp5MWUUJri1XgL3MlIwd9BCfLdALrD_A0yeCHN4A/s400/DSCN1670.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-MXv99P0X3iTQH2GsCCR40ApNe0fT2OhgXiC7nX89lhmDyAB0fYRGmBb6DWPrfOKkyxKl5K29cuzFmS33Q9bAUWyhTLK9TWtNuHqihW0PBJTNURkTer_eh4JhyphenhyphenG5SeffLH0_UBA/s1600-h/DSCN1671.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5320129572032750130" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-MXv99P0X3iTQH2GsCCR40ApNe0fT2OhgXiC7nX89lhmDyAB0fYRGmBb6DWPrfOKkyxKl5K29cuzFmS33Q9bAUWyhTLK9TWtNuHqihW0PBJTNURkTer_eh4JhyphenhyphenG5SeffLH0_UBA/s400/DSCN1671.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">I tried a new recipie I found on Kelly's Korner blog....see the link on the side of the main page of my blog that says "Miracles Happen". Not too much going on here exciting to talk about. It's Spring Break and I've been doing some serious cleaning. Monday I mowed up 3 bags of leaves...Tuesday my back hurt I could hardly get out of bed....Wednesday I cleaned out Matthew's closet and the hall closet and got two large bags of trash! Vaccumed the whole house and have dusted this week. I know...I hear Travis' cleaning system calling my name!<a href="http://www.pracharfamily.blogspot.com/">http://www.pracharfamily.blogspot.com/</a> I am thinking her way is better than my way of killing myself doing it a few times a year...... So... check out her blog with me!!</span></div><br /><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">I did find some super cute placemates a couple of weeks ago....and yes, I enjoy leaving the table all decorated. That way, if anyone ever wants to come over for dinner....I'm all prepared! :-) Speaking of entertaining....head over to one of my favorite blogs for a giveaway. What was he THINKING? <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Doesn</span>’t he know that people are around and someone is going to take a picture? Here I am, trying to teach my son to say “No to Drugs” and an Olympian can’t. I am so no longer impressed with him. Someone asked me if I was disappointed in him or in the fact that he got caught. Very good question. I guess now I am disappointed to learn that he is participating in such an act. Who was he trying to impress? A bunch of strangers at a college he was not attending? Seriously??? So not going for the gold there Michael. I am not perfect and don’t claim to be perfect. There are consequences to our actions and trust me, at one time or another in our lives, we all must face them. I am not the one that signed multi-million dollar endorsement deals. Consequences I think there might be many. Or will there?? That is the next question. Will there be criminal charges or will a high priced, smooth talking attorney get him off the hook like they did with his DUI four years ago. Time will tell. As for me, I remain disappointed. Michael is the one that has to live with the now tarnished golden boy image. I have read now that Kellogg's has dropped there endorsement deals and Michael is on a 3 month suspension from competing. He says the worst part of all of this is how he's disappointed his fans and his mother again. Maybe boys will just be boys...I certainly hope not. I think that is why kids should be looking for their <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">heroes</span> at home, not out in Hollywood or in public figures.....they are the ones most likely to disappoint!<br /><br />“Instruction is what we say, Influence is what we do, Image is what we are” S. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Truett</span> Cathy<br /> </span>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-67773324883770295692009-02-04T10:46:00.003-06:002009-02-04T10:57:25.479-06:00Jessica Simpson...makes my blog!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWzltRXDZTUL31MWTXzY0lMBWtSZ15YduzeIQ2N1JmwabGrHwGSTD6sswKpdXEpZsqHi-UPxVgIYajbLOIqiETi91HFcFPUqngKWMv8_1-9CRUOTMnvm1WaicrqLd7N7G3DkVz1g/s1600-h/Jessica+Simpson2.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298986804670969778" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWzltRXDZTUL31MWTXzY0lMBWtSZ15YduzeIQ2N1JmwabGrHwGSTD6sswKpdXEpZsqHi-UPxVgIYajbLOIqiETi91HFcFPUqngKWMv8_1-9CRUOTMnvm1WaicrqLd7N7G3DkVz1g/s400/Jessica+Simpson2.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Just last month I saw Jessica open for Rascal Flatts. I must admit, I am not a huge huge fan. I will say...she looked good. She wasn't fat by ANY means. The outfit she is photgraphed in that is getting her bad PR and calling her fat....well, in all honesty, the outfit is hideous. Someone should have never let her go on stage wearing that. Has she put on some weight lately. I couldn't care less. Who amoughts us hasn't and who shouldn't be judging. As someone who has struggled with their weight and has been mad fun of for being fat all her life....it is irresponsible for the press to call her fat. It tells women of ALL ages that we have to be a certain weight to be accepted in our society and I think that is just BS and unacceptable. My friend Tracey, who I went to the concert with barely a month ago both commented on how little Jessica looked. The press needs to find something else news worthy to write about. Which brings me to my next blog......stay tuned...</div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-67617113561871790762009-01-29T10:03:00.001-06:002009-01-29T10:07:48.578-06:00Rascal Flatts Pictures 2009<div><embed src="http://widget-a3.slide.com/widgets/slideticker.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" quality="high" scale="noscale" salign="l" wmode="transparent" flashvars="cy=bb&il=1&channel=432345564266867875&site=widget-a3.slide.com" style="width:400px;height:320px" name="flashticker" align="middle"></embed><div style="width:400px;text-align:left;"><a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=432345564266867875&map=1" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-a3.slide.com/p1/432345564266867875/bb_t000_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide1.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /></a> <a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=432345564266867875&map=2" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-a3.slide.com/p2/432345564266867875/bb_t000_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide2.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /></a> <a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=432345564266867875&map=F" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-a3.slide.com/p4/432345564266867875/bb_t000_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide42.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /></a></div></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-77950473324952546652009-01-29T09:22:00.005-06:002009-01-29T10:01:30.500-06:00Rascal Flatts Concert<span style="font-size:130%;"><div></span></div><span style="font-size:130%;">I know...long time no blog! After Be the Best...Care the Most...I was a bit worn out! Then I was revitalized at the Rascal Flatts Concert!!! Yes...from the moment I heard they were coming to town, I knew I had to go. And from the moment it was announced they were coming back, Tracey and I decided to go together...this was even before she knew I had a history of getting excellent seats. So, I joined the fan club again.....and the second they were on sale, I bought my alloted two tickets. They went on sale at 10am and I was on the computer waiting. The deal is you don't get your tickets until that night...it keeps people from selling the great tickets on ebay or other online retailers for a profit. So, until I went to the Will Call window the night of the concert, we had zero clue where our seats where. As luck would have it, the concert was on a Saturday night. So, after working my full 12 hour shift, I drove the 6 min home, jumped in Tracey's car...because seriously if I drove us downtown, we would miss the concert....and off we went!! Our tickets said 10th row....but the actual location was an isle seat....3rd ROW....dead center~ I swear Gary sang to us most of the concert! And Jay caught me texting..so after that I gave up on the camera and phone and danced away the rest of the concert. :-)Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-83876680385263220082009-01-12T21:33:00.004-06:002009-01-14T08:49:38.751-06:00Be The Best..Care The Most<span style="font-size:130%;">Be The Best...Care the Most!! </span><br /><span style="font-size:130%;"></span><br /><span style="font-size:130%;">It all started in the Fall of 1989. ...Opening Convocation, William Jewell College, Second Baptist Church in Liberty. I was a Freshman in college. I remember sitting there with my mom and dad, roommate Heather and her parents....listening to the President of the college, Gordon Kingsley give his speech. I was spellbound. I was IN college! Gordon Kingsley could tell a story like no one else I had ever heard. I knew I was in the right place. It's been almost 20 years ago and the words of his speech....Be the Best, Care the Most...still ring in my heart today. I left that church that day wanting to excel in college, earn my BSN and go out and be the best nurse I could be. Now here I am, 15 some years later wondering where health care and the hospital I am working at is going. I was recently reminded of Mr. Kingsley's speech after reading our CEO's November newsletter. He referenced the past Olympics and Michael Phelps and how he had achieved such greatness in winning so many gold medals and "Going for the Gold". I wish I had the article in front of me now to quote from but basically he'd like to see the hospital not just stive to be "ok" but excell in our community and of course the system. I have to agree. I don't want to just work at a place that is just 'getting by'...I want to work at a facility that cares enough to go the extra mile. That means, if you see someone who is lost, stop what you are doing and take them where they need to go. Give the extra care....what better things do you have to do while you are work? It certainly shouldn't be looking on Craigslist! Patients don't have to go to certain hospitals anymore based on their insurance anymore. They can choose to go to our hospital...or the one down the road. I'd like to think that they choose us because they like the PROFESSIONAL staff and are confident in our care. Someday, when I have an office, I will have a sign posted....BE THE BEST, CARE THE MOST. Mark my words. For now, I want one here in my office at home!!</span><br /><br /><span style="font-size:130%;"></span><br /><br /><span style="font-size:130%;">Three weeks ago I recieved a call from the current secretary for the nurses union informing me I was nominated for the position of Secretary of the union. My first reaction...Who on earth nominated me and oh heck NO! The poor woman was just in awe that I didn't want to do it. Well...I don't believe in the union. Plain and simple. In fact, I've become quite cynical lately. I don't know who to trust. I have a need to see things in writing and hear it straight from the horses mouth so to speak. For the last year, they have tried to get us this "big" raise and get us up with the other nurses in the same system and for whatever reasons....it hasn't happened. I don't have time for one (I've heard more) meeting a month, try and find a sitter for something I just can't 100% give my heart to. Not to mention, I don't know who to believe half the time. My point in bringing this up....I get off work Sunday night to find the president of the union in the break room handing out bags and these hideous buttons. These buttons say" Where is my share" on them. Referring to the $$$ owed to us in the above mentioned raise. While I do believe that all nurses, with the same experience in our same system should be making the same hourly wage...I am NOT going to wear a hideous NON PROFESSIONAL button in any kind of protest. This button is not going to get administration to fold and "give" us this raise or negotiate a raise any faster. It's just plain rediculous and I told her so. The argument became quite heated!! I refuse to wear a button that makes me look like a waitress at TGI Fridays! It is making a mokery of nursing as a profession. Also, I don't think the patients should know anything is going on either. I know you can get more flies with honey. I would like to see some old fashioned good faith negotiating taking place and get this arguing over and done with. It isn't what I signed up for as a nurse. I think we should concentrate on excellent, above the bar patient care....after all, I am quite sure that is why I became a nurse. Be The Best....Care The Most....I must remember what inspired me so many years ago!</span>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-27489001709629642982009-01-02T14:38:00.002-06:002009-01-02T14:44:11.683-06:00Wii Bowling *Warning...Can Be Addicting*<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjshy_5c1p9RP4IkwBAXJ0DtzPWYU1_mETYIg5GS00NkYrYzOC7ngOI4vRW-PCGqlhhTajpQkbtyKR-ZQjulXVx-Jhyphenhyphen56mxtewzrfL9nglBzT4KRrN_m14hiAs4kLRUSnm3WG652Q/s1600-h/wii+lisa.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286799771774419986" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 350px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjshy_5c1p9RP4IkwBAXJ0DtzPWYU1_mETYIg5GS00NkYrYzOC7ngOI4vRW-PCGqlhhTajpQkbtyKR-ZQjulXVx-Jhyphenhyphen56mxtewzrfL9nglBzT4KRrN_m14hiAs4kLRUSnm3WG652Q/s400/wii+lisa.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRdXddpAhzpa4c74udHvQ0AGR2oYSZO94A-7XJNW1K9D-wvKOEPTwPMU-3lFp8EjYhcTRqYbHVvQyf7_RdW9kk_qmutT5YWXCkOJn6Rt1pca52u9HVvHkkDfuSSY4C3l-EjPRYtg/s1600-h/matthew+wii.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286799771745620594" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRdXddpAhzpa4c74udHvQ0AGR2oYSZO94A-7XJNW1K9D-wvKOEPTwPMU-3lFp8EjYhcTRqYbHVvQyf7_RdW9kk_qmutT5YWXCkOJn6Rt1pca52u9HVvHkkDfuSSY4C3l-EjPRYtg/s400/matthew+wii.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">Matthew and I have been slightly competative and very much addicted to the Wii Bowling! By 8:30pm it was time for Matthew to get to bed and my friend/coworker Tracey was coming over for dinner...aka left overs! She had to work 9am to 9pm and couldn't resist my grilled pork chops that she had on Thanksgiving! I guess she didn't get sick then and thought she'd try it again. Not to mention I bribbed her with an apple pie ring I found on a blog from <a href="http://www.reluctantentertainer.com/">http://www.reluctantentertainer.com/</a> I found this blog from Christine's blog, whom I met on yahoo 360. Anyway, on the reluctant entertainer blog I have gotten numerous recipie ideas, life lessons, inspirations and have just really enjoyed reading it. So, thank you for this apple pie ring that we had! I did only use one can of crossiants so it spilled out of the ring but oh how it was good! And...even though I was just "entertaining" for one...poor Tracey, after a 12 hour shift got stuck getting her picture taken.... I tried to plate it up nicely for her to have a nice Christmas dinner. And as Matthew's shirt says...I need more practice in the kitchen...lol!</span></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-84960753230800630882008-12-29T21:40:00.003-06:002008-12-29T21:57:44.103-06:00Favorite Gift...Ever!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEjk1Sudu6XvZQ8cxsZQjZZuR4H2aZVz8gxwe3VwCo50Dh_bCFA2Y_3QxopQdDGOZ7rTLca4tgN76JQb8HZIClcxjiFWF2pEkDZ7bT6KSaaQCQMoBbLaRxLGa7Zhg8wOkmsLVAMw/s1600-h/DSCN1572.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5285426267463643746" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEjk1Sudu6XvZQ8cxsZQjZZuR4H2aZVz8gxwe3VwCo50Dh_bCFA2Y_3QxopQdDGOZ7rTLca4tgN76JQb8HZIClcxjiFWF2pEkDZ7bT6KSaaQCQMoBbLaRxLGa7Zhg8wOkmsLVAMw/s400/DSCN1572.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcMizErNVmdHj98QQ02U5N3CZRr5zWNTt0Qlh3WwQuG8Ky76RqcUWSpPi9YaVY97Lu0kHljVET9Jd8F4G44InhMtXpW6GuTpcHgDOTMTu5Vc9xrQTcFVzTYl369HFJF-yUzow59Q/s1600-h/DSCN1574.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5285426255390624898" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcMizErNVmdHj98QQ02U5N3CZRr5zWNTt0Qlh3WwQuG8Ky76RqcUWSpPi9YaVY97Lu0kHljVET9Jd8F4G44InhMtXpW6GuTpcHgDOTMTu5Vc9xrQTcFVzTYl369HFJF-yUzow59Q/s400/DSCN1574.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4Lw07m-df5BGID1OrllQWdifNYOb_Z0EsHgTyNMrWF-HZX0rlE_djPUNCTnyxEg2sGsBOCPK2yku8H2ktVbvnuVNHZm428QAPckfcajgSpkZ8GI7lPmfYUqAbAb79vG3wzXdyCQ/s1600-h/DSCN1570.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5285426254012770226" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4Lw07m-df5BGID1OrllQWdifNYOb_Z0EsHgTyNMrWF-HZX0rlE_djPUNCTnyxEg2sGsBOCPK2yku8H2ktVbvnuVNHZm428QAPckfcajgSpkZ8GI7lPmfYUqAbAb79vG3wzXdyCQ/s400/DSCN1570.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7Eg-KisVJSznItzStZ1Vehs2EvUisHO-muiq76LWI5mKtx-0uviekaIkFvo2mkMGBWf7-1W6RS5YjHcfztMjKR9yRByn55_ktCjt88W072al1nIyWH2XaaZpEiHKQp5sBlBV8KA/s1600-h/DSCN1566.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5285426249748900034" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7Eg-KisVJSznItzStZ1Vehs2EvUisHO-muiq76LWI5mKtx-0uviekaIkFvo2mkMGBWf7-1W6RS5YjHcfztMjKR9yRByn55_ktCjt88W072al1nIyWH2XaaZpEiHKQp5sBlBV8KA/s400/DSCN1566.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">After the cookie incident and a few more fibs, I was about to cancel Christmas all together. But eventually Matthew saw the light and realized he should probably be on his good behavior. I finally heard come out of his mouth that he was acting disrespectful so I am either making progress or he was working me over to get to Christmas. Either way, I ended up getting the flu the weekend before Christmas. I managed to work the weekend with the chills (I'm sure my co workers appreciated me sneezing the blowing my nose the whole time) and then Monday I was in bed the whole day. Matthew was an angel and played and entertained himself very well and the house remained standing! Finally Christmas came and my threats of getting socks and underware did come true! (its tradition) He did get some clothes but also a Wii. He was SOOOOOO excited. I have to admit, it is pretty fun. I am loving bowling! Even Grandma played a little. Tonight I bowled a 187 and I am quite determined to beat that and my 3 strikes in a row that both Matthew and I attained tonight. For Christmas morning breakfast I made an egg casserole and cinnamon rolls and for dinner I grilled out pork chops. It was a little chilly but not too bad out. Grandma left with left overs so it must not have been too bad! lol</span></div></div></div></div></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-45250802631560299812008-12-29T21:23:00.003-06:002008-12-29T21:37:51.857-06:00The Great Cookie Caper!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_ErfXGVRTJ0DfbaHp2JwPyWAqdIwMuXSis_oQNu0K53kblQKfl8mNZzoFD7LlBnseCY5xFcWKPPgvrAZJ01BmdBubQa9ZqWyCVuV94edEvqKfwEdm819KDRTLmDYFy-YtwnUyVA/s1600-h/DSCN1558.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5285422211846228802" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_ErfXGVRTJ0DfbaHp2JwPyWAqdIwMuXSis_oQNu0K53kblQKfl8mNZzoFD7LlBnseCY5xFcWKPPgvrAZJ01BmdBubQa9ZqWyCVuV94edEvqKfwEdm819KDRTLmDYFy-YtwnUyVA/s400/DSCN1558.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">I am totally behind in my blogging so its time to play catch up! So, it started with a little school project about family traditions that led to bringing to school a snack that had something to do with what your family traditionally makes at Christmas time. Matthew always likes to help me bake cookies. If you know me...you know its been YEARS since I've made cookies from scratch. I think if I had anything besides a hand mixer I would go back to the old way. But ever since my friend/co worker, Susie, brought me cookies after having Matthew...and it turned out they were the already made kind that all you had to do was either slice and bake or tear off and bake....well, I've been spoiled ever since. Anywho, so our version of baking cookies is putting the cookie dough on my Pampered Chef stoneware (the secret to my never burnt cookies) and baking! So, we go to the store, pick out these tree cookies, bake them and Matthew is going to take them to school the next day to share them with his class for the Traditions Party. Keep in mind, it has snowed the day before and they have a snow day...giving us an extra day to do all of this. So, I get up the next day, take Matthew to school so these cookies don't get broken and wish Matthew a great day and party. :-) Matthew comes home with.....THE COOKIES! ah....WHAT??? After making a special trip to the store (in the snow no less) , baking the cookies, and driving him TO school....I get the back???? Matthew said there were extras and he got them back. Hmmmmm....something isn't making sense. So, I email the teacher and of course, get a different story. After much grilling the next day, Matthew finally cracks. He wanted a cookie and didn't want to share....so he brought them home. Oh dear....what child lies just a few days before Christmas??? Yep....Matthew. So, since the whole point of making the cookies was to give them away....we gave them to Grandma as part of her late birthday gift...since it is better to give than to recieve. At least that was part of the lesson I was trying to teach in the end here. </span></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28641819.post-30492640966051005402008-12-11T18:07:00.004-06:002008-12-11T18:13:32.844-06:00More Pics<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnouXl7NIk6tEwyxeeJJ3h3mc8LmjKiQChgAylix4c0KuadJh23dRFSqeNDPvWpDp3Nk_IH1PDhr8eyb9Mkt9xijB9aaGwCe12HXxqDx1X6_TSL-x6CLX_wnbM09Wf9DcXX1V6Kg/s1600-h/matthews+tree+2008.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5278689508437570850" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnouXl7NIk6tEwyxeeJJ3h3mc8LmjKiQChgAylix4c0KuadJh23dRFSqeNDPvWpDp3Nk_IH1PDhr8eyb9Mkt9xijB9aaGwCe12HXxqDx1X6_TSL-x6CLX_wnbM09Wf9DcXX1V6Kg/s400/matthews+tree+2008.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6a216IVeSsAbUkXszfuMWrZs27oNyF6USqC8cHgF_F7o-z7lZWnLC-_Lix-LATTVbQnf_EFOYOuJeVfLJVRqt4BXGMr_e8caoC-ke8VwIQP3wYgwpBAvQRTkNiEwRjoAfUFpLkg/s1600-h/kitchen2008.jpg"></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJeX_FOlrhac6DI2R7wQSA5zUyg32HQnVNuTHwRvoAtrdTYJqEio_LD_Q0zS_3RW9vpMdADfyH19m6vEcHU1TIhmHmM-Q65420Z6xZqIrHZmFVeQUn29_kH57pVb4FV0HzDORTZg/s1600-h/kitchen2008.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5278689197062565682" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJeX_FOlrhac6DI2R7wQSA5zUyg32HQnVNuTHwRvoAtrdTYJqEio_LD_Q0zS_3RW9vpMdADfyH19m6vEcHU1TIhmHmM-Q65420Z6xZqIrHZmFVeQUn29_kH57pVb4FV0HzDORTZg/s400/kitchen2008.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="font-size:130%;">A couple more pictures....my kitchen and Matthew's tree......which looks better in the dark! :-)</span></div></div></div>Lisahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01334115782826713782noreply@blogger.com2
